Activate Uts exists to serve UTS staff, students, and the community as a whole and enhance the student experience at UTS. Activate Uts put a lot of emphasis on extracurricular activities and programs that help graduate attributes and prepare students for life after college. Their primary objective is to provide services to the UTS community and deliver development outcomes as a not-for-profit student-centered organization. The Student Services and Amenities Fee and the revenue they generate from their commercial activities provide their funding. In order to develop a fundraising strategy and other arrangements that meet their operational needs, they collaborate with UTS. Except for the student directors, who are elected by their peers, and the CEO, who is appointed by the ActivateUTS Board, all members are appointed by the University Council. Staff and understudy chiefs are designated for two-year terms starting on 7 June. Four understudy chiefs are chosen in even-numbered years and three are chosen in odd-numbered years.
