In the UK, Brother Machines is owned, operated and maintained by C & A Supply Limited. C&A Supply Company (formerly C&A Sewing Machine Company) was established in 1948 and was incorporated in 1961. Since the early 1970s, they have been supplying brother sewing machines. Brother Machines was founded by two pre-war friends Ron Crawley and Tom Adams (hence C&A). After the war, they reunited and began to provide sewing machine parts and accessories for the sewing industry, which eventually led to the supply of the machine itself. C&A was originally headquartered in Islington, London, and worked in Clapham, South London for 25 years. In 2008, it decided to move to its current location in Cranleigh, Surrey. In 2005, C&A entered the digital age for the first time and launched the initial version of the site. The company is now run by the second and third generation descendants of the two founders.
