A year later, a second Jon Fudge shop opened in a historic building in downtown Mackinac Island, and in 1980, Mackinac City added a third. Today, Joann's Fudge is a third-generation family business that continues Joan and Frank's commitment to providing quality products. Joann's Fudge takes pride in its smooth texture. To get their world-famous flavor, their fudges are slowly cooked in a traditional copper pot with a gas flame. Once the desired temperature has been reached, pour the mixture onto a marble slab to cool for a while, and then pluck it into the bread by hand. They only use fresh heavy cream and butter in each batch of fudge and pure grated cocoa beans. Joan's fudge does not contain any preservatives or powder ingredients.
