Regis Manufacturing warehouse and corporate headquarters are in a historic building just south of downtown Dallas. In 1959, they established their business at 1516 Corinth; Frank Kehr purchased the historic Compton Citadel Salvation Army building, built in 1937, for Regis' new headquarters. As their business grew, Regis Manufacturing needed more space, so they moved into their current location at 1500 Corinth in 1980. C. V. Compton, a prominent Dallas attorney who actively participated in its establishment, was the original inspiration for the building's name. The building "was not a relief agency, but more of a community clubhouse, according to 1937 news reports. It had classrooms, game rooms, sewing rooms, and a public restroom where women could wash their clothes for the week. Mr. And Mrs. Compton improved the Citadel by adding a large gymnasium and craft room toward the end of 1938. The expanded community center was going to help a neighborhood that didn't have enough places to do social activities.
