SMJ House is a majestic 7000-square-foot Victorian home owned by the City of Eugene and operated as a museum by Shelton Johnson Associates, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since its public opening in 1994, initially with just one floor accessible, the museum has expanded to offer full access to all three floors. This expansion provides visitors with an immersive experience of life in the 1930s, reflecting the era of the SMJ House family. Now open six days a week, the house is meticulously furnished and overseen by a Board of Directors and an Executive Director, supported by a dedicated team of part-time staff and enthusiastic volunteers.
