Virtual High School an eclectic group that gathered the Huron County District School Board in the late 1990s includes online teachers, course authors, content developers, theorists, and school board administrators. For many years, the school has been operating outside the Baker basement in Bayfield, Ontario, but in 2011, the school was renovated and moved to the Ritz Hotel on Main Street. It enrolls more than 8,500 people each year, and the Bayfield facility employs more than 70 people and has nearly 100 certified teachers as a team of independent contractors.
